Staci Hart writes love so well! The last book of the Red Lipstick Coalition is so drenched in heartstopping prose that you practically need to read it on a chaise lounge with smelling salts at your disposal. It’s incredibly beautiful, how, with a minimum of the hero’s touch and the right dose of her own imagery, Staci Hart can set our hearts fluttering: with a description of Theo touching Katherine’s wrist, the imagining of a whisper of fabric – it’s very swoony. (*fans self*)
“We need a signal. A… a sign.”
He broke away, leaning back, his eyes black and lust-drunk.
“I have one rule. It can double as the signal.”
“What?” I said breathlessly.
Theo reached for my face, cupped my jaw, and ran a thumb across my bottom lip, his eyes following the motion.
“Wear this lipstick. I want you in it when we… scratch. And that’ll be my cue.”
Let me also reassure you that all the main suspects are back. So is the dancing and, of course, the lipstick. Meanwhile, our most-buttoned up heroine, Katherine, somehow becomes “Kate” and ultimately, Kate + Theo and romance triumphs. It is fantastically steamy, so, so romantic and one of my new favourite books. Thank you, Staci Hart for providing one of the best reads of 2019 and finishing up this series so wonderfully!
