He’s A Keeper by Stacy Travis
Coming May 24!
Drunk-texting a grumpy soccer star?
Best worst decision of my life.
Especially when the player is the sinfully handsome, foul-mouthed Holden Sandersโฆ my new library assistant.
The benched bad boy needed an image makeover, I needed to save my job, and his star status was just what the library ordered to raise awareness for our fundraising campaign. The press canโt get enough of Mr. Growly reading to kids.
It’s win-win and completely platonic.
Until I need a shoulder to cry on after drowning my heartbreak in too many margaritas. I only typed that invitation to his brawny biceps and perfect pectorals for funโI never meant to hit send. Holden isnโt the kind of guy to care about tears and feelings, least of all mine. Heโs made it clear good girls arenโt his type.
But he shows upโwith his strapping shoulder, a box of tissues, and a supersized bag of Doritos.
Thatโs when I realize thereโs more to him than meets the eye.
One soulful, smoldering mistake of a kiss has me craving more, and the heat between us quickly builds to a blaze neither of us can control.
But Iโm not the only one guarding secrets, and Holdenโs might push us to the breaking point.
Even if Iโm surrounded by books, I know better than to believe in storybook endings.
And yet, I want to believe… Because I know he’s a keeper.
He’s a Keeper is a standalone sports romance in the San Francisco Strikers series with a HEA.

Holden Sanders is a soccer player whose girlfriend is a famous singer. After she cruelly breaks up with him on national television he blows up at her in front of the media, spends a week drinking, and decides heโs done with relationships.
Molly has two jobs as a librarian: at a high school and at the San Francisco Public Library. Her Public Library job is in jeopardy as they are thinking of downsizing so she is trying to think up ways to get more people in.
Two years after the debacle with his singer girlfriend, Holden is now known for his bad attitude, relentless scowl and foul mouth. After a concussion sidelines him from play, Holden is left looking for activities to occupy his time. Which leads him to the library with his niece.
Holden and Mollyโs meet cute is a bit of a stand-off but he thinks sheโs adorable and she thinks heโs hotโฆand grumpy.
Itโs a real pleasure to see these two opposites and relationship-averse people fall for one another. I love Stacy Travis romances because they are like a warm hug: they are low angst and swoony. I fell for Holdenโs gruff but lovable demeanor. He has such a big heart as does Molly. And Mollyโs heart is huge.
They are both dealing with issues that complicate their journey to their happily ever after and Stacy Travis handles these issues with sensitivity.
I really loved this book! We get to see Charlie from โNo Match for Herโ as he takes ownership of Holdenโs team, the San Francisco Strikers and implements his changes.
Holden and Molly are so perfect together as they fight their demons to try to make things work.
โSheโs not the exception. Sheโs the whole goddamn rule book.โ
I read this easily in just a day as I couldnโt put it down, Itโs so worth your time.
I received a review copy of this sports romance from the author and this is my honest review.
