Those Three Little Words by Meghan Quinn
From USA Today and Amazon Charts bestselling author Meghan Quinn comes a brand new romantic comedy about a one-night stand gone completely wrong. Laugh out loud and steamy with a heart-stopping happily ever after.
I knocked up my best friend’s sister.
Figured I would get straight to the point because how it happened is a mere snippet of the story I have to tell. The real meat and potatoes is what happened after.
Let’s start with how she decided to inform me and Pacey the news . . . together. Imagine that nightmare. I was going into what I thought was a hockey marketing meeting and then BAM! I’m going to be a dad and my best friend/teammate is attempting to imprint my face with his fist.
It wasn’t pretty.
Threats were tossed around, friendships were revoked, and then I was marched up to her apartment, suitcases in hand, and forced to live with her so I could take care of her every need. Given how much I’ve pined for the girl, you would think that wouldn’t be a hardship. Wrong.
This is my one shot to win my teammate back. Pacey is the only family I’ve got, so hooking up with his sister isn’t a mistake I can make twice . . . despite the fact that she’s pregnant with my child.
But with every mood swing, every pair of pants that doesn’t fit right, and every late night run to find the perfect donut, I’m finding it harder and harder not to fall for my best friend’s little sister.
Especially when she kisses me…

Funny and Heartwarming Sports Romance Rises Above The Pack
Read โThose Three Little Wordsโ if you like:
โ Accidental Pregnancy
โ Sports Romance (hockey)
โ Workplace Romance
โ Forced Proximity
โ One night stand to lovers
โ Dual Points of View
โ Can be read as complete standalone but is #2 in series (The Vancouver Agitators)
Hockey player Eli Hornsby likes to live in the moment. Heโll do just about any crazy thing. This has served him well in his life until he meets Penny. He had a one-night-stand with his best friendโs sister on his birthday and it turns out, sheโs pregnant as a result.
Penny is Pacey Lawesโ sister (Kiss and Donโt Tell). She works for Eliโs Vancouver Agitators hockey team as a social media consultant. At the beginning of the book, Penny admits that she doesnโt like to interact with Eli very much because his good looks and flirtatiousness intimidate her. Penny knows Eli is the biggest player on the team, but on Valentineโs Day they run into each other at a bar and she canโt seem to say no to him.
Honestly, I felt a little uncomfortable with their interactions at the bar because Penny has low self-esteem, sheโs been drinking, sheโs intimidated by Eli, her co-worker, and heโs very persistent and unapologetic about his lifestyle.
Perhaps those things became apparent to the author as Eli begins his next point-of-view chapter by saying, โโฆany woman I take to bed is a willing, consensual partner.โ
Suffice it to say, they do โthe deedโ and Penny is gone before Eli wakes up. Five weeks later, she finds out sheโs pregnant and calls in her best friend, Blakely, to try to figure out what to do. They decide that Penny should tell Eli and her brother, Pacey at the same time with another hockey player present in case her brother tries to hurt Eli. It doesnโt go well.
Pacey and Eli insist that he move in with Penny and we get a lot of great forced proximity situations from that.
There are many funny moments in this book as with all Meghan Quinn books. Quinn is always great at finding comical moments from awkward situations. Hormonal Penny was hilarious.
As you witness Penny and Eli grow closer together; as they fumble and then get real with one another, it is just beautiful, funny and sublime.
Eli: โShe fills in the broken and cracked parts of my soulโฆโ
Eli is a wonderful main character. Heโs wounded from his past and doesnโt want to lose anyone. Heโs open about his past with Penny and only strives to get to know her better. Eli is now one of my favorite reformed playboys. He had such a tough past and doesnโt even know what love feels like but his actions speak louder than words. Heโs caring, sweet, and he and Penny are very, very spicy together.
Penny is fantastic: she goes through so many changes in this book from single woman to a woman experiencing pregnancy for the first time and Quinn handles those changes adeptly. At her core, Penny is a bright, loving person who wants to be loved in return.
This is the third (!) accidental pregnancy, sports romance Iโve read this week alone and โThose Three Little Wordsโ stands out from the pack. Weโre really given time to watch Penny and Eliโs relationship unfold. Itโs not rushed and itโs absolutely delicious. Iโm really looking forward to reading more books in this series. I want to read more about Taters, Holmes and the rest.
I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
