Book Review

Five Stars for this Delicious Book

I absolutely loved Ash and Zelda so much. I loved their magnetism and their quippy, witty conversations. I loved the way they physically needed each other in a tactile, cuddly way from pretty much the moment they met. I loved the descriptions in the book. I’ve highlighted so much of it on Goodreads. It’s just gorgeous prose. It’s also very steamy which after the dreamy quality of Ash and Zelda’s interactions was kind of a shock to the system (I think my note was *record scratch*) but Ash is also an incredibly vulnerable character as is Zelda and they love each other as the other requires. I am looking forward to more from Kate Canterbary. I honestly never wanted this book to end. One of my favorites of 2020!

“These are the nights you remember,” she said. “They’re the ones that go down in your memories as emblematic of summer, and when it’s dark and cold in January, this gets you through the worst of it. You never remember the days of disgustingly oppressive heat or the bug bites. The sunburns are forgotten and only the gorgeous morsels of perfection remain. Memories are good to us that way. They help us forget the rough spots and crave the bright ones.”

Zelda

There were often times when we didn’t need to speak. Sometimes it was pensive, like tonight, and the silence settled around us like heavy woolen cloaks while we worked out our problems within ourselves and the worlds we knew. Other times it was a quiet that required no words because we’d replaced them with touch and the cellular connection we’d formed. Then there were the golden moments, the ones we often shared at work when we understood and anticipated each other without any form of language.

Ash

I’m not especially fond of the cover or the title but this book has really beautiful prose and it’s pretty hot and steamy.

"I love you." She took that overripened truth from me and turned another pirouette, a laugh rippling out as the air caught her skirt. I wished the wedding photographer was lurking nearby because I wanted to remember this up close and also far away. I wanted to see the moonlight glowing on her skin and the flutter of her skirt and the unbound joy on her face. I wanted every side of this memory.
Hopelessly romantic

Kate Canterbary recently released special edition covers of the Santillian Triplets series. Here is the new cover for Boss in the Bedsheets.

Hi, I'm Kate. I started this website in 2020 to share my love and respect for romance books. I adore the works of Chloe Liese, Penny Reid, Karina Halle, Talia Hilbert, Kennedy Ryan, Catherine Walsh, and Charish Reid. When I'm not devouring romance novels, I love to travel and spend time with my Nebelung cat, Fitz. I hope this space helps you fall in love with the wonderful world of romance books as much as I have!
