Jayci Lee, author of A Sweet Mess, returns with The Dating Dareโher next witty, chemistry-filled romantic comedy.
Tara Park doesnโt do serious relationships. Neither does she hop into bed with virtual strangers. Especially when that particular stranger is her best friendโs new brother-in-law. It isnโt an easy decision, though. Seth Kim is temptation personified. His unreasonably handsome looks and charming personality makes him easy on the eyes and good for her ego.
When a friendly game of Truth or Dare leads to an uncomplicated four-date arrangement with Seth, Tara canโt say she minds. But their dates, while sweet and sexy, have a tendency to hit roadblocks. Thankfully, their non-dates and chance meetings get frequent and heated.
Seth is leaving for a new job in Paris in a month and a no-strings attached fling seemed like a nice little distraction for bothโฆ But soon Seth realizes that Tara Park doesnโt come in a โnice & littleโ package–sheโs funny and bold, sweet and sexy, and everything he ever wanted and never expected to find. Neither of them are ready for something serious and both have past relationship baggage theyโve been ignoring, but with a shot at forever on the line will they follow their hearts and take a chance on happily-ever-after?
If the shoe doesnโt fit, maybe itโs time to design your own.

When a contestant on Before Midnight bows out at the last minute, Cindy is thrust into the spotlight. Showcasing her killer shoe collection on network TV seems like a great way to jump-start her career. And, while sheโs at it, why not go on a few lavish dates with an eligible suitor?
But being the first and only fat contestant on Before Midnight turns her into a viral sensationโand a body-positivity iconโovernight. Even harder to believe? She can actually see herself falling for this Prince Charming. To make it to the end, despite the fans, the haters, and a house full of fellow contestants sheโs not sure she can trust, Cindy will have to take a leap of faith and hope her heelsโ and her heartโdonโt break in the process.

โI had to sneeze.โ
I shouldโve taken her insurance information and driven off like any reasonable CEO with places to be would.
She crashed into my car, for heavenโs sake.Becauseshe had to sneeze.
What did I do? I didnโt get in my car and drive away, if thatโs what youโre thinking.
Nope. I stuck around. I could suggest I stayed because she needed help, but the truth? She was really, really hot.
We became fast friends. Then friends with benefits. Before I knew it, we were involved in an illicit office romance that had me fumbling through a drawerful of panties to get a Post-It.
It was supposed to be easyโa fling, if you will. A dashing millionaire hero (*adjusts tie*) and a beautiful (stubborn, frustratingly independent, hell-on-wheels) damsel in distress. (Donโt tell her I said that.)
It wasnโt supposed to be forever, but we did want a happy ending. (Pun intended.) We couldโve made it work, too.But one of us overcomplicated things with the L-word. And the other? They omitted a truth that changed everything.
Author’s Note: Relentless is a standalone novel filled with heart and heat.
Relentless has been moved to September 3rd.

One word that comes to mind when someone talks about me. I like to think of it as protection, watching out for the ones I love. But now Iโm spending more time in the penalty box than on the ice and the team owner isnโt happy.

Blogging about bad dates used to be fun, but a girl can only take so much foolishness. So I broke up with my job.
Okay, full disclosure, I was fired. Itโs a long, sordid tale, involving my sourdough starterโRIP, Fred!โand my ex-bossโs serious lack of humor.
Newly funemployed and in need of a break, I go to Asheville to dogsit for my sisterโฆand stumble onto a scoop big enough to put my fake-dating days behind me forever.
Augusta Glower, local success story, wrote a bestseller about the self-help group she started. People think her system works, and copycat Bad Luck Clubs have sprung up nationwide. Something feels off, though, and a little poking around by yours truly suggests she stole the idea.
Thereโs one problem. I have to prove it, and the guy she ripped offโsuper-hot house flipper Caleb Reynoldsโseems toโฆwell, hate me. Which is too bad since his secrets arenโt the only thing Iโd like to peel away.

Molly OโShea is my worst nightmare.

So why is she so damn irresistible?

When I was born, I was beloved by my parents. I felt their warmth from the tips of my toes to the untamable curls in my hairโuntil tragedy hit and I lost them both.
With no extended family, I ended up in Kerrighan House, a home for girls just like meโgirls whoโd lost everything. Mama Kerri took me in and treated me with nothing but love, as did the rest of my sisters of the soul. In that house, we formed a bond that could never be broken.
Now danger seems to follow all of us. But what danger could come to me: a petite, high-school Spanish teacher whoโd never hurt a fly? The only one on my tail is Omar Alvarado, the bodyguard hired to protect me from the danger lurking around my sisters. The more I shun his advances though, the harder he tries to earn my favor. Omar seems to like my brand of sass and doesnโt hide the fact he wants me for his own.
Iโm determined to not get caught up in his beautiful smile, the sexy suggestions he whispers in my ear, or that incredible body that would make any woman swoon with desire.
Even with the tension rising between us, all seemed to be kept in checkโuntil I found myself in the middle of a high stakes bank robbery.
And the only one who could save me, was the one man I tried so desperately to push away.

The one that got away. Every girl has one, right?
Mine was a charming, British aristocrat who turned my world upside down one summer.
From the moment I first spotted Leo in the distance through my binoculars, Iโd been captivated. I certainly never expected to find a man showering outside of the property across the bay in his birthday suit.
Then I noticed his housemate staring back at me with binoculars of his ownโwatching me watching Leo.
That made for an interesting conversation starter when I inevitably ran into them.
Turned out, the handsome Brits were only renting that house for the summer in my seaside town.
Leo and I formed an instant connection, even though we were technically opposites by all appearances. I taught him how to dig for clams, and he taught me that not all wealthy and powerful guys are pretentious.
Despite knowing he was totally wrong for me, I couldnโt seem to stay away.
It was a wild and crazy few months. And before I knew it, weโd fallen in love.
We both had one wish: more time together.
But Leo had obligations back home. He lived a life Iโd never fit into. And I was going to law school. So, we decided to end it and never look back.
A part of me always felt like Iโd let my soulmate walk away.
I believed our story was over.
Until five years later when he sent me a letter that shook me to my core.
Iโd thought my world was turned upside down that first summer?
Well, I knew nothing yet.
Top three lies about mamaโs boys:
1. That we donโt know what we want. That one is straight up BS. I know exactly what I wantโto win this bet with my cousins by any means necessary even if it means finding the worst possible date in all of Harbor City and agreeing to whatever she asks in exchange for her pretending to fall for me.
2. That we are soft, little wimps. Yeah, you donโt get to be CEO of a multibillion dollar company by letting other people take advantage of you. So as soon as I realize my date Fiona Hartigan isnโt exactly who she appears to be, thereโs nothing that will stop me from figuring out the truthโno matter how many dates it takes to unravel that mystery.
3. That we donโt know how to kiss. Oh yes we do. The only problem is that once I start kissing Fiona, I donโt want to stop and I have to because weโve already agreed that all of this is temporary.
Now Iโm the guy that every woman wants to bring home to momโexcept for the woman Iโm fake dating and falling in love with for real.

An ordinary summer goes royally awry when a prince and princess move next door, bringing their handsome bodyguard with them, from New York Times bestselling author Karina Halle.
Piper Evans: elementary school teacher by day–avid romance reader and anonymous podcaster by night. She lives a quiet, reclusive life, taking care of her mother, who struggles with mental illness, avoiding her regrettable ex, who bartends in town, and trying to make inroads in the tight-knit island community that still sees her, five years in, as an outsider.
And she’s happy with how things are–really–until British royals rent the property next to hers and their brooding bodyguard decides she’s a security threat. Piper quickly realizes that one person’s fairy tale is an ordinary woman’s nightmare as a media frenzy takes over the island and each run-in with Harrison Cole is hotter and more confusing than the last. But beneath Harrison’s no-nonsense exterior lies a soft heart, one that could tempt a woman who’s sworn off attachments into believing in white knights.
But when Piper finds herself smack in the middle of a royal scandal that rocks the island she’ll need more than Harrison’s strong arms to shield her–she’ll have to do a little rescuing herself. With careers, hearts, and friendships on the line, Piper and Harrison will have to decide what they’re willing to give up for a chance at their own happily ever after.
That’s all my August 2021 Romance Releases for now. What are you looking forward to in August? Did you see the July list?
