Raisa Greywood is another new author that the Cocky Hero Club has introduced me to and I’m so grateful. “Sexy Scoundrel” has roots in the original series through Chance and Aubrey, the lead characters in Cocky Bastard. They are friends of Carlina Perez who helps Aubrey by fostering her large animal rescues on her farm and they also know “tabloid bait” playboy Giorgio Acardi the real estate developer, as he sometimes donates to Aubrey’s animal shelter.
Carlina, a pastry chef, is fired by her douchey ex one night which leaves her looking for a job. Giorgio is looking for someone to possibly be a personal chef for his brother, Antonio, who is an adult with Down’s Syndrome. Carli really dislikes Giorgio on first meeting him so the personal chef job is a definite non-starter. Eventually they come to an arrangement in which Antonio will work for Carli on her farm. Antonio is a big fan of Leonard the lion who she has just started fostering.
Gradually Carli teaches Antonio to cook and to handle the animals and the machinery on the agreement that Giorgio stays away from the farm. Through circumstance, Giorgio and Carli are forced into close proximity and learn to get along and their attraction ignites. Carli agrees to give Gio 6 weeks to prove himself to her but things don’t go as planned. Will he be able to pull off his grand gesture and win her heart?
